Laurel School - Shaker Heights, Ohio

This late 1920's Tudor style building which houses a venerable Cleveland educational institution greeted arriving and departing students mostly in darkness.  In 2007 private donors came forward to offer funding for cleaning the building and illuminating the facade.  The lighting scheme is simple, using low-wattage ground mounted ceramic arc metal halide floods mounted at close setbacks to rake the brick.  Narrow-beam luminaires use the same lamp and wattage to punch the tower feature and illuminate the flagpole.  A flawless and unintrusive installation was executed by Ullman Electric.  The result is a glowing, welcoming front door for students, faculty, and parents.
